We are looking for a Wound Care Nurse to join our compassionate, care-giving team! The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for providing primary skin care to residents with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders.
Wound Care Nurse Duties/Responsibilities:
·Provides treatment protocols to ward off skin irritation and infection for wounds that may not heal well, because of other medical problems, such as diabetes or poor circulation.
·Cooperates with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident’s total regimen of care is maintained.
·Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc., as necessary.
·Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
·Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
·Develops and participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel.
·Maintains complete and accurate documentation
·Performs other duties as assigned
Wound Care Nurse Qualifications/Requirements:
·LPN/RN credentialed in IL, license in good standing.
·Experience in long-term care is preferred.
·Compassionate and empathetic personality.
